Fashion For Fashion Dolls is a story that began when I was just 13 years old, learning to crochet from my Dutch grandmother.

My first project was a poncho, lovingly guided by her patient hands. As life moved on, my crochet hooks were set aside, and I embarked on a journey that took me to Ireland, where I worked various jobs, raised a family, and embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood.

Now, at 67, with my children grown and time finally my own again, I found myself returning to the craft that once brought me so much joy.

The idea of starting an online webshop grew from a simple love of crocheting to a passion for creating something meaningful and beautiful. Over the past three years, I've worked tirelessly to bring Fashion For Fashion Dolls to life, pouring my heart into every stitch and every detail.

Where do I draw my inspiration from?

I draw my inspiration primarily from my vast collection of yarn, which began with local purchases but quickly expanded as I sought out unique and fantasy yarns. My quest led me to a company in The Netherlands, and I eventually launched a website called Magical Yarns. When seeking inspiration, I often browse through my collection, selecting yarns that resonate with me and pairing them together in a way that feels right. With these chosen yarns in hand, I embark on my creative journey, guided by my crochet hooks.

As an Oma ( Dutch for Grandmother) now, I take great pride in showing my grandchildren that it's never too late to start something new. My motto is simple: "You are never too old to start something new. Believe in yourself and keep at it until you get where you want to be.

" I hope that through my work, I can inspire others, young and old, to pursue their passions and make changes, no matter where they are in life." I'm grateful to have a supportive partner who has believed in me every step of the way, helping me turn this dream into reality.

So, as you browse through the outfits I've crocheted and curated, know that each one carries a piece of this journey. I hope they bring as much joy to you as they have to me, and maybe, just maybe, they'll inspire you to take that first step toward something new.
